1. Grandma Mcgarvey joins the kapa haka group Written and illustrated by Shaleen Singh-Ark

2. One day Grandma McGarvey drove into Bay of plenty and lied down in the sun. No one was there not anyone. Just then a person came by with black, frizzy hair, black eyes and brown shield on his chest ‘’ what a surprise ‘’ he said ‘’ Come with me where it is beautiful blue with great blue sea and a lovely view.

3. So Grandma followed a rather strange man but WHO CARES! ‘’ Here we are ‘’ he said ‘’ oh, and my name is Andy McNeal and these are my friends’’.

4. Then her eyes caught a hut and she ran as fast as she could. When she was in there an alarm went off Grandma said ‘’ What is that for ? ‘’ and a water wave caught her by a waterfall.

5. She was holding onto Andy's hand and he got Grandma and she said ‘’ Thank you’’. They also did a haka and Grandma McGarvey farewelled the bay of plenty.
