REQUIREMENTS GATHERING Moderators: M Miller Goals: To allow participants to provide feedback to the developers (BIRN-CC and test bed applications) of what they need to achieve for their test beds’ scientific goals. They can describe missing features, define new tools, recommendations for improvements to existing tools, etc. This would be valuable input to determine the priorities for upcomping work efforts. Suggested Advance Preparation: Summaries from the previous days database and scientific working group sessions. Deliverables: Documentation of requirements for BIRN (software, hardware, procedural and governance related requirements)

Morphometry BIRN Moderators: Jorge,Randy Skull Stripping 1.Authorship questions (to be dealt at IP Task Force Meeting) Face Anonomyzation (UCSD/LONI/MGH) 1.Project most ready for prime time. According to Greg March deadline for manuscript is appropriate. UCLA team may already have a manuscript ready for submission or submitted. Final issues being worked out between MGH (AD,BR) and UCSD team. 2.Create new face atlas that preserves EEG/MEG locations 3.Psychometric evaluation of John Doe & Freesurfer algorithms 4.BIRN-CC Requirement: None as of this time

Morphometry BIRN MIRIAD (Duke/NC/LONI) 1.50 controls, 20+ Depressed, Statistical Analysis done at Duke. David Rex is about to finish final analysis at LONI. 2. BIRN –CC Requirement: Data tables in BIRN CC must be made compatible with Duke meta-analysis. Duke SAS tables entered into BIRN CC databases.

Morphometry BIRN Free-Surf/LDMM/SLICER (MGH,JHU,Brigham) 1.Data set analysis for data creation, vector field mapping, and visualization completed. Statistical analysis methodologies not integrated. 2. Requirements: JHU+Brigham to meet and decide on methods for integrating and visualizing statistical analysis in SLICER. 3. BIRN-CC Requirements: Integration of shape statistics metrics into metadata tables. 4. R. Buckner to provide 20 more datasets to be added to first 18. 5. Get a project name.

Morphometry BIRN UCSD willing to share their clinical query tool user interface: database software engineer expertise in Java/Oracle to support query tool.UCSD willing to share their clinical query tool user interface: database software engineer expertise in Java/Oracle to support query tool. 6 Key Concepts Registration Tool Registration Tool –Presented by Robin Park –Java-based – will run on W2K, mac, Linux/Unix machines –Support for SRB is available, but not fully tested Requirements Requirements –Support SAS databases –Need to export description of variables –Need to add description of variables –Define a common set of semantic types and have the ability to add others –Need to support Postgres Technical Grid Integration Moderator: Amarnath Gupta, Mark James

Key Concepts Vista – Creating Integrated Views Vista – Creating Integrated Views –Presented by Haiyun He Requirements Requirements –Need to support outer joins and auto joins –Can SQL statements be supported directly? –Need an ability to add additional operations

Key Concepts Que – Forms Builder tool Que – Forms Builder tool –Presented by Haiyun He Requirements Requirements –BIRN-CC will work with Burak’s query form and connect it to the mediator –Allow for the results of a query to be stored in a file, printed, etc. In this manner the results can be sent to the next step in a workflow.

General Requirements Security Security –Row and column permissions –Grant permissions to groups –Support Postgres inheritance –Support sub-level security – only certain individuals have access to certain tables –Support foreign keys Create a BIRN users support group/mail list to provide feedback on the mediator Create a BIRN users support group/mail list to provide feedback on the mediator Provide documentation on the mediator APIs on the web site Provide documentation on the mediator APIs on the web site Provide training materials and access to tools via the web site Provide training materials and access to tools via the web site

MOUSE BIRN

Performance Evaluation of SRB Stergios Anastasiadis (Duke)
