7 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_de_Triomphe Architecture in France (specifically Paris) is closely related with the history. Many monument's represent something that happened there during the French Revolution. Arc de Triomphe stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle. The Arc honors those who fought and died for France in the French Revolution, names of soldiers inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. The Arc is at in intersection where 13 streets of Paris all meet. It is beautiful and a great attraction to go see for the architecture and for what it stands for. Return to Exhibit Arc de Triomphe

8 This unknown titled painting is by Jacques- Louis David. He was an influential artist of the 18 th century. He was a romantic painter. Noted realist artists were popular in the mid 19 th century. An impressionist school emerged around 1872; most important attendees were Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir. In the late 19 th century postimpressionist painters were around. Pablo Picasso hung out in Paris, France in the early 1900s. France has produced amazing artist and sculptors. Just in general France has produced some amazing art in many forms. It is a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel. It is normally served cold. The custard is traditionally flavored with vanilla, but is sometimes lemon or orange. 10 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastille_Day This is a holiday to celebrate French National Day. This is celebrated on the 14 th of July each year. In France it is normally called La Fete Nationale. This day commemorates the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 th of July in 1789. The Bastille was a prison and it was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern nation. Festivities and official ceremonies are held all over France for this day. The oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe is for this day. Held on the 14 th in the morning.
