4. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? O.T. is inspired 2 Pet. 1:20-21 “...men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.” ASV “Thus saith the Lord” - 415 times

5. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? O.T. is Profitable Rom.15:4 “written for our learning” Instruction [the function of information] 1 Cor. 10:11 ASV “Now these things happened unto them by way of example;”

6. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? O.T. is Not in Force Today Col. 2:14-16 = “took it out of the way” Heb. 8:6-11= “a new covenant” Matt. 5:17 = “come to fulfill”

7. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? Denominational view of O.T. “We take it all, both O.T. & N.T.” ??? Animal Sacrifices, Sabbath Feast Days Go to the O.T. for what they want

8. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? Cannot live by O.T. & N.T. If you go back to the law for one thing, then you must do it for all. Gal. 5:1-4

9. Gal. 5:1 ¶ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

10. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

11. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? The O.T. is not for us today “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim. 2:15 “handling aright the word of truth.” ASV

12. 1. Do we believe in the Old Testament ? Old Testament ? Yes !!! Cannot properly understand N.T. without knowledge of O.T. We live under the law of Christ as found in the New Testament !

14. 2. Do we believe we are Saved by Grace ? Rom. 3:24 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Eph.2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

15. 2. Do we believe we are Saved by Grace ? Grace = unmerited favor God saved us from sin when we did not deserve it. John 3:16 Rom. 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

16. 2. Do we believe we are Saved by Grace ? Grace does not exclude conditions ~Noah - Gen.6:8 found grace in the eyes of God - built the ark ~Ruth - Ruth 2:2-3 - gleaned in the fields of Boaz

17. 2. Do we believe we are Saved by Grace ? Saved by Grace but not Grace alone Gal. 1:15 - Paul called by grace Acts 22:16 - baptized to wash away his sins Not saved by Grace Alone Tit. 2:11 - appeared to all men

18. 2. Do we believe we are Saved by Grace ? Yes !!! All who will be in heaven will be saved by the Grace of God.

20. 3. Do we believe in Music ? People say: “They are the group that doesn’t believe in music.” Two kinds of music: Vocal and Instrumental Combination of the two

21. 3. Do we believe in Music ? Eph. 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;” Col. 3:16 “singing” The music was VOCAL

22. 3. Do we believe in Music ? We respect the silence of the N.T. ~It is silent about instrumental music ~we do not have the right to add it Recipe tells what to include - it does not tell everything to be left out of it !

23. “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” Deut. 4:2 “Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Prov. 30:6

24. Rev. 22:18-19 not to add or take away 1 Peter 4:11 “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God;...” God commanded Singing

25. 1Cor. 4:6 ASV “Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.”
