1 Types of Characters Journey to the Bottomless Pit

2 Protagonist  This is the main character or the hero in the story. Example: Ginny (Sweet Creek Holler)

3 Antagonist  This is the villain or the “bad guy” in the story. Example: Mrs. Moore (Sweet Creek Holler)

4 Major  This is a main character in the story, but not necessarily the protagonist. Example: Lou Jean (Sweet Creek Holler)

5 Minor  This is a supporting, less important character in the story. Example: Granny (Sweet Creek Holler)

6 Round  This is a complex character and has many emotions that the reader can identify with. Example: Ginny, Lou Jean

7 Flat  This character has one or few traits and it unchanging in the story.

8 Dynamic  This character goes through many changes during the story. Example: Ginny, Lou Jean, Nit

9 Static  This character does not go through many changes in the story. Example: Mrs. Moore

10 Character Traits  Descriptive adjective that tells the reader the specific qualities of a character. Example: Ginny=adventurous
