Additional Meshing Tools Meshing Tools Besides the automated meshing tools, there are several semi-automated meshing tools to generate hex and wedge elements using, Extrude Revolve Sweep 2.5D Meshing Profile This section covers details on how to use these tools.

Extrude Application | Geometry | Body | Create | Extrude Extrude option is used to create geometry in the specified direction. Solid body will be created when we select faces. Sheet body will be created when we select edges. Wire body will be created when we select vertices

Faces / Edges / Vertices will be extruded in the specified direction, distance and with respect to the number of layers are specified. Inflate – It will extrude the given face in both direction (+ve and –ve) with respect to the given magnitude. Direction can be Normal to Elem Radial Direction Spherical Extrude - Distance

Revolve Application | Geometry | Body | Create | Revolve Revolve option is used to create axi-symmetric geometry. Solid body will be created when we select faces. Sheet body will be created when we select edges. Wire body will be created when we select vertices

The shape of the face is defined by a polygon using the selected nodes in a sequence. This feature allows the sweeping of the profile. Once a profile is created, it can be saved and imported for latter use. Bolts, liners, valve seats can be defined using a profile and stored.

Specify the angle of revolution and the axis about which the profile is to revolve. Enter the number of elements and the mesh size.
