Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School gives you choices. Camp includes five days of activities, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Our specialty camps are optional programs, operating during regular camp hours, which provide even more choices for unique and exciting adventures. 3 Highlights Sample Daily Schedule 7:00 – 8:30 am Before Care (Additional Charge) 8:30 – 9:00 amMorning Circle 9:00 – 9:45 am Creation Station – Based on the weekly themes, campers will create a variety of art projects using various mediums such as clay, paper, paint, recycled materials, and more! 9:45 – 10:30 amGym Games – Campers will play various large group games such as parachute, hockey, scooters, basketball, relay races and more! 10:30 – 11:15 amTechnology – Campers will be using various computer programs based on the weekly themes. 11:15 am – 12:00 pmSTEAM – Activities will provide an opportunity for campers to engage, explore and make sense of the natural world through inquiry and project-based learning. 12:00 – 1:00 pm Lunch and Recess 1:00 – 4:00pm Field Trip 4:00 – 4:30pm Closing Circle 4:30 – 6:30pm After Care (Additional Charge) Camp Themes: Campers definitely won’t be bored this summer with our board game themed weeks! Weekly themes include: Hungry Hungry Hippos, Trouble, Mouse Trap, Battleship, Clue, Operation, Candyland, Sorry!, Monopoly and Twister. Field Trips: Featured field trips this year include Pelican Harbor, Splash Country, Airtastic, the movie theater and Sky High Sports. Hot Lunch: Don’t want to pack a lunch? We’ve got you covered! For only $25 per week your child can have hot lunch at camp. All meals will be made with fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain or organic pastas and rice. Vegetarian option available. 4 Specialty Camps Cooking – Weeks 5 & 9 (9:30 – 10:30am) Bring out the chef within you. Planning, preparing, and presentation of various types of food is the focus of this specialty camp. The campers will experience and prepare foods that require math (measurement of ingredients), creativity (presentation) and teamwork. Campers will be able to sample their creations in camp. Cost: $80/week Soccer – Weeks 2 & 6 (9:00am – 12:00pm) Campers will learn individual practices that develop agility, balance and coordination, twenty different ways to turn, fake and beat opponents, juggling, lifts and balances. They will work on dribbling and changing direction while in control of the ball as well as improving accuracy, pace and timing of passes. Vendor: Challenger SportsCost: $155/week Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School Summer Camp 2016 | Page 5 Chess – Week 7 (9:30-10:30am) Our chess camp is a fun-filled professional chess program for campers in grades K-8. Campers will be introduced to chess fundamentals through an interactive instructional period and then through guided practice. Students will participate in a mini tournament at the end of the week. Fun for all skill levels! Vendor: Chess ScholarsCost: $90/week Mad Science – Weeks 4 & 8 (9:30 – 10:30am) Each day involves fun and crazy science projects and experiments. Students will learn the magic of science while they create crazy concoctions. Campers are sure to have a blast while participating in all of these great science activities. Cost: $70/week Lego – Week 3 (9:30 – 10:30am) Lego Camp offers campers the opportunity to explore mechanisms and structural design through the use of Legos. Campers are given design/building assignments and enthusiastic instructors provide individual assistance and instruction that include facilitating challenges and fun competitions. Cost: $60/week

A deposit of $230.00, which will pay for your final week of camp, must be paid at the time of registration (non-refundable). *All specialty camps must be paid for at time of registration. *Your child will get a camp t-shirt and water bottle during their first week. *Weekly payments are due on the first day of the week by 9:00am. A $25 per day late payment fee will be assessed beginning the second day at 12:00pm. *Since all camp programs are prescheduled, any changes (additions/deletions) to originally selected programs must be made in writing at least TWO FULL WEEKS IN ADVANCE of requested change. All requests for cancellations made after this deadline will not be accommodated and payment will be required. ***PLEASE NOTE: Summer Camp will be CLOSED on Monday, July 4 th, in observance of Independence Day.
