Data input and reports

New functionalities Truelift reporting Automatic importing from Smart Assessment APR calculation module

The APR Calculation Module

This section also includes an APR estimation module: allows you to estimate the average Annual Percentage Rate

APR Module The automatic calculation is generated based on an average of 3 samples by product, determined according to the loan amount and repayment frequency (minimum, most frequent and maximum).

Reporting – See from the case study

With the data provided in the Organization Information section, a Social Dashboard is automatically generated. This Dashboard visually represents key social indicators and ratios. This Dashboard allows you to track key social performance indicators to communicate on internally or with external partners using a common language.

Based on your answers in the questionnaire, two reports on the Universal Standards are automatically generated The first gives a score out of 100 for all Dimensions, Standards and Essential Practices

The second report on the Universal Standards presents results graphically by Dimension …

… and by Standard.

To encourage transparency, SPI4 also generates a MIX Report based on data from the Organization Information section and Questionnaire. This report is fully aligned with current MIX indicators, and can thus be used to facilitate your SP reporting to the MIX Market.

SPI4 also generates two Smart Assessment reports based on your input in the questionnaire. The scoring methodology is the same as the one used in the Smart Campaign Getting Started Questionnaire and Certification framework. The first report details in a table the score your institution got for each standard

The second report displays the graphs for each principle

If you initially selected the SPI lens, a SPI report allows you to see your results based on the SPI 3.3 scoring method

If you initially selected the green lens and filled in this dimension in the questionnaire, you will have a Green Report

Vision: Role and commitment of SPI users MFIs Conduct annual assessment, use for SPM, ensure data validation by external party, provide SPI4 for any demand on SP data MFIs Conduct annual assessment, use for SPM, ensure data validation by external party, provide SPI4 for any demand on SP data MFI Networks / TA Providers Help MFIs in filling in SPI4 Ensure validation (when accredited) Work on improvement MFI Networks / TA Providers Help MFIs in filling in SPI4 Ensure validation (when accredited) Work on improvement Funders/ Investors SPI4 as primary source of SP data Data validation in DD/monitoring Work on improvement Funders/ Investors SPI4 as primary source of SP data Data validation in DD/monitoring Work on improvement SPTF/ CERISE / MIX-SP platform Training & accreditation on SPI Centralisation info (reports, backgr. doc) SP database: benchmark, research, profiles SPTF/ CERISE / MIX-SP platform Training & accreditation on SPI Centralisation info (reports, backgr. doc) SP database: benchmark, research, profiles

The Beta testers Among which, 25 have already completed a SPI4 assessment (66%) 38 MFIs involved in the pilot testing of SPI4

Duration for the assessment On average : 24 h to fill in the tool (3 days) Shortest time took 2h (Test of the questionnaire with fictive data) Longest time registered : 50h (Desk review + Interviews + Focus groups + Post mission)  The more participatory the assessment, the longest it takes to fill in the questionnaire

The 3 most challenging dimensions were: Dimension 6 - Balance Financial and Social Performance (quoted 7 times)  Time consuming, very specific, cross-departments indicators, new indicators Dimension 4 - Treat Clients Responsibly (quoted 6 times)  CPP take more time to assess, high number of indicators (72), intensive consultation with field officers is required Dimension 2 - Ensure Board, Management and Employee Commitment to Social Goals (quoted 5 times)  Board members are often “disconnected” or less implicated, needs to consult a number of unusual documents (such as minutes from board), difficult to get evidences (often not formalized)

Do you plan to adopt SPI4 in your organization? Most of therespondants plan to adopt SPI4 in their organization For adopters: SPI4 is a comprehensive tool, that allows the identification of the areas of improvement, and concrete steps for action plan. It gives the organization a complete picture of their SP. In the future, it will be even more useful with the possibility to compare with benchmark. SPI4 can be used as an internal SP audit tool. For the non adopters: SPI4 will not be used, because it is not made for donors, and because MFI already have an inhouse SP assessment tool

Next steps Simplifying at the indicators levels, add remaining lenses The supporting materials (webinars, trainings, translations, glossaries, guides and tips), links with Resources for implementation SPI4 is a very good and productive SPM tool. It will really help organizations not only to report but to consciously manage their organization's social performance  See the link with the Universal Standard Implementation guide Further support needed on the action plan which appears to be the next steps that the institution will benefit most
