1. The men did this because they loved their friend and believed in Jesus.

The Greatest Commandment

Often times the sad truth of our reaching out and sharing Jesus with others is this: We don’t do so because we don’t love Jesus enough or we don’t love our “friends” enough. Love has to be pretty strong to overcome our fears about sharing Christ.

2. The men were desperate for their friend.

4. The men took a risk.

Is God calling you to reach out to someone by taking a risk?

God does not care about your comfort; He cares about you!

5. The men’s faith went “through the roof.” 6. The men’s faith brought someone else to Christ.

Real and authentic faith always affects others.

7. Jesus gave the man what he needed first.

Because of his love for us, Jesus often gives us what we need before he gives us what we want. In fact, Jesus may never give us what we want, but he will give us what he wants for us. And what he wants for us is always infinitely better.
