2 Most rollercoasters, such as Outlaw Run and Powder Keg, are made of steel or wood. Wooden coasters, such as Thunderation from Silver Dollar City, are supported by concrete foundations. MATERIALS

3 The first thing you have to think about is what kind of riders are going to be riding the ride, such as little children or teens and adults. Most families enjoy rollercoaster rides with lots of turns and moderate forces. Rollercoaster designers have to think about the available space. Some rides have to twist through or around other amusement park rides! DESIGN

4 According to Time Magazine, the number one rollercoaster in the U.S. is Millennium Force in Cedar Point, Ohio. In Branson, Missouri, there is an amusement park named Silver Dollar City that has a wooden coaster called Outlaw Run that goes upside down! There is also a coaster called Nitro from Six Flags and it is 3rd in the world. FAMOUS COASTERS
