Properties of light – 10 Points Tell me ONE property of light

Properties of light 20 Points What property of light does this show? DAILY DOUBLE: What would happen if we moved the middle card to the left a bit?

Properties of light – 30 Points Use the smartboard pen to Demonstrate how one Beam of light might be Bouncing around this room

Properties of light – 40 Points Both of these picture represent WHICH property of light?

Properties of light – 50 Points What is this picture proving about light?

TTO- 10 Points How do you tell the difference between a TRANSPARENT object and a TRANSLUCENT object?

TTO- 20 Points Draw how the light would go if this was an OPAQUE object that it was hitting

TTO- 30 Points Draw how the light would go if this was a TRANSPARENT object that it was hitting

TTO- 40 Points Draw how the light would go if this was a TRANSLUCENT object that it was hitting

TTO- 50 Points Show us an example of a transparent, a translucent, and an opaque object in the room

Vocab - 10 Points If something EMITS light, what does that mean? And give an example of something in this room that is EMITTING light

Vocab - 20 Points If something is ILLUMINATED what does that mean? And give an example of something in this room that is ILLUMINATED

Vocab - 30 Points What is REFLECTION? Give an example.

Vocab - 40 Points What is REFRACTION? Give an example.

Vocab - 50 Points Read this definition and tell me what vocabulary word fits the description: The angle between the incident ray and the normal ray is called the angle of incidence. The angle between the reflected ray and the normal is called the angle of reflection. The angle of incidence is the SAME as the angle of reflection. This basically means that any ray of light that hits a mirror at one angle will bounce off the other way at the same angle!

10 Points Tell one example of a NATURAL source of light, and tell One example of an ARTIFICIAL/ MAN- MADE source of light

20 Points Tell one example of a LIVING NATURAL source of light

30 Points Is the moon a source of light? Why or why not?

40 Points If something ISN’T a source of light, then how do we see it?

50 Points Circle ALL of the natural sources of light. BONUS 10 points if you can put a CHECKMARK On all of the LIVING sources tool

Reflection & Refraction - 10 Points Use the RED pen to show how the light is travelling in this photo

Reflection & Refraction - 20 Points What properties make SOME objects better reflectors than others?

Reflection & Refraction - 30 Points Draw how the light would reflect off of this mirror

Reflection & Refraction - 40 Points When we look at this glass of water, the straw appears broken. This is because: a)The straw is a good reflector b)The water is slowing down light, so refraction is occurring c)The water is translucent so we are only seeing some of the molecules d)The law of reflection is making it reflect at the same angle that it hit

Reflection & Refraction - 50 Points Draw how the light beams might be bouncing off if they were Hitting a ROUGH surface such as tin foil
