2.  Recall questions. The answer is in the text; it is fact and can not be disputed.  Example:  What were Cinderella’s shoes made out of?  How did Cinderella get to the ball?

3.  Analysis/Inference. Implicit or what is implied; analysis, ask how and why, require analysis of the text, reading between the lines, hidden meaning.  Example:  Why does Cinderella's stepmother care whether or not she goes to the ball?  Why did everything turn back the way it was except the glass slipper?  Why don't the step sisters like Cinderella?

4.  Synthesis. Go beyond the text and inquire into the value, importance and application of the information presented.  Example:  Does a woman's salvation always lie with a man?  What does it mean to live happily ever after?  Does good always overcome evil?

5.  Come up with three questions; one for each level of questioning.  Due: Monday; this is your test over Tangerine  Prepare for class discussion lead by YOUR questions.  Grade will be based on your questions and how well you participate in the discussion.

6.  Classroom will be set up in an inner/outer circle formation (14 inside – half the class) INSIDE the CircleOUTSIDE the Circle You MUST be prepared with your questions The conversation MUST NOT die or wane After you’ve responded THREE times, you must leave the inner circle You will be graded on the quality of your contributions!! You MUST be quiet at all times—you are not allowed to provide feedback When someone leaves the inner circle, you must be prepared to join the inner circle You MUST be prepared to take the inner circle
