6. Extension Activity: Using Word Inferences to Create Tone Watch the clip from Finding Nemo, and use it as inspiration to create a cartoon strip with captions. Incorporate all six roots somewhere in your piece and use language choices that build a specific tone. Think about each word’s connotation and its effect on the overall tone as you write your dialogue in your caption bubbles. The length is up to you, but it must be based off of the Finding Nemo clip you watch. You are simply retelling the story in a new genre or format (the cartoon strip).
