2. Hydropower Hydropower is renewable because Hydropower needs water and we will never run out of water because of the water cycle. You can find this source where ever there is moving water.

3. How do we use hydropower In a dam the water flows down a large pipe and moves a turbine that generate electricity. It is so easy to change this energy into a usable type of energy because you don’t have to do anything as long as there is water moving.

4. Hydropower in our community There is no form of hydropower in our community but there is one in MA. The one in MA, is in Holyoke MA. This Dam helps the factory close to it form energy and the community of Holyoke.

5. Pros and Cons of hydropower Cons They may be more expensive per unit of energy produced than large projects. During dry seasons, smaller water sources can temporarily disappear. Smaller water sources can usually only be used for meeting peak power demand. Pros They can sometimes be designed to use small amounts of water. They’re generally less costly to build than large projects. They don’t require large dams and reservoirs.

6. Hydropower pollution This energy source cannot contribute to any type of pollution because it uses water and water can’t contribute to pollution. It doesn’t contribute to noise pollution because most dams are made in rivers where nobody lives.

7. How is hydropower used This energy can be used in our homes and schools if we have a large river near by to generate electricity to power our homes and schools. For transportation we cannot use this energy source because we would need a large water tank and that wont take us far also we would have to refill the tank very often.

8. Hydropower Opinion I believe this energy source is better then some other energy sources like solar, oil, and nuclear because it doesn’t damage our community or atmosphere. It is better then solar because you need the sun for solar energy so at night time you wont have energy because the sun is not out. While solar relies on the sun, hydropower relies on the water movement and water never goes away. So you can use it even at night time. It is better then oil because you find oil in the ground form decomposed bones and animals. If an oil leek happens it takes time to fix it like the oil leek that happened in the golf of Mexico. It is better then nuclear because is something wrong happened to nuclear it can damage to community around the source. While Hydropower when something goes wrong it only floods the community and you can fix that easier then nuclear.
