16 3 rd RPF – November 2001: Proposed Resolution ISSUE Problems have recently been experienced with the availability/curtailment of bitumen supplies for various reasons, some of which are: –Accidents at refinery plants –Type of crudes/diets –Exports at expense of local industry (commercial) This has resulted in abnormal extraordinary cost to (ultimately) the client bodies & brings into question cost-effectiveness of bituminous surfacings

17 Resolution Proposed That a RPF Task Group be formed to monitor the situation of bitumen manufacture, with a view to keeping the relevant industry players/stakeholders informed of bitumen availability.

18 Resolution Proposed That the RPF Task Group be convened by Denzil Sadler and Bob Hornsey
