Definition of General Education Approved by College Senate 4/15/13 CCBC’s General Education Program introduces students to a variety of disciplines that build a common foundation of knowledge that promotes responsibility, critical thinking, and lifelong, independent learning. General Education courses prepare students to meet the personal, academic, and career challenges of today and tomorrow as empowered citizens of a global society.

12. General Education Review Board (GERB) Policies and Procedures: More Questions How can GERB streamline the course approval process? Should there should be a limit on the number of courses offered in each category? What is a reasonable timeline for courses to be submitted and approved? How will all of this affect GREAT Assessment?
