+ You will need to pay a monthly or yearly fee which could range between $130 and $390 per year. This will cover your domain and hosting for the year, as well as provide you with additional features depending on the type of account you purchase. WHAT WILL A CMS COST?
+ You will no longer need to pay a web designer maintenance fees. You will be able to update your site on your own schedule. CMS’s are quick to install and easy to use. You can have your website up and running in a day. HOW WILL A CMS SAVE?
+ ADVANTAGES Ability to add or edit pages of your web site easily on your own. No need to pay a web developer maintenance fees. Provides a manageable space for multiple users to freely update the site. DISADVANTAGES You could potentially break your web site if you don’t use the CMS properly. You may not have the resources to update your site regularly. You may not have the necessary computer skills to operate the CMS properly. WHY USE A CMS?

+ ADDING A NEW POST Select “ADD” Blog Post, located on the left side of your home screen under the PUBLISH section.
+ JUST LIKE WRITING AN EMAIL You can now compose your first post by typing inside the text editor that Wordpress has provided. You can… Insert images Change headings Insert hyperlinks Style your documents
+ SAVE IT FOR LATER You can save the work you have done for another day by clicking the SAVE button, located just above the PUBLISH button on the left side of your screen.
+ 2 CLICKS AWAY Next to the PUBLISH button is the PREVIEW button. You can select the PREVIEW button to view your post before if goes live to your site. You can select the PUBLISH button to post the blog article you have worked on ONCE ITS COMPLETED.
+ CATEGORIES & TAGS Categories and Tags can be used to create sections where you can save each blog post. This will make it easier for your guests to navigate your website. Categories can be used to group your posts by their topics. Tags can be used to associate words with your post to make them easier for your readers to discover.
+ CATEGORIES AND TAGS 1. Select the CATEGORIES AND TABS tab. 2. Click ADD A NEW CATEGORY 3. Insert the desired category name in the space provided. 4. Select the category that you just created in the PARENT CATEGORY box below. You can also select more then one category if it fits the post you made. 5. Click ADD once your all set. + IMAGES AND THEMES A featured image can be inserted to represent the theme of your post. The image can be uploaded directly from your computer…or a URL link can be used as well. Select the FEATURED IMAGE drop down and CLICK “Set Featured Image”.
+ IMAGES AND THEMES 1. Select ADD NEW IMAGE 2. CHOOSE your image file from your computer 3. Once selected, hover your cursor over your image and select the PENCIL ICON to edit the image information 4. Insert a CAPTION or DESCRIPTION to explain the image for visually impaired readers. 5. + CONNECTIONS AND BUTTONS Once you have selected CONNECT NEW SERVICE you will presented with multiple options for account that you can connect.
+ MAKE A CONNECTION You can customize the type of sharing buttons that will be display on the new blog post. SHARING BUTTONS Now that we have shared your post with all your followers lets get back to finishing your new post… Since a new window was opened when you selected CONNECT…you can now close that window and get back to your main Wordpress window.
+ FORMATTING YOUR POST Formatting your post will help with site performance. You can leave the STANDARD option selected.
