2 Introduction Do you know what polar means? It means cold. Doesn't that mean polar bears have to be cold? No, it doesn’t. Let’s go on the polar express to find out.

3 Polar Bear Palace Arctic tundra, North Pole that’s where the polar bear lives. They love the extremely cold weather. They live part of their time on land and part on water. That’s why the tundra is a great place for a polar bear to live.

4 Yum, Yum, Yum! Fish and seals are a polar bears dream. Did you know the polar bear searches for it’s prey on long summer days, and sometimes on long winter nights? Polar bears have to hunt for their food in the water. They swim in the water to find their food. I bet the polar bears favorite thing to do is to eat.

5 Babies, babies, and more babies Can you believe that baby polar bears are the size of guinea pigs? They weigh less than 2 pounds. They are also the size of your parents palm. Half-grown cubs stand as tall as a man. Polar bear babies are the cutest bears ever!

6 Fun Facts Did you know that the polar bear is the largest bear on it’s hind legs? When the polar bear swims, its fur turns into a thick bathing suit. In the warm summer, polar bears get overheated, especially if they’re active. Now you know that the polar bear is the most interesting arctic mammal.
