How to keep safe on the internet  Keep social networks private  Don’t give out personal information  Don’t respond to mean messages  Zip it, block it, flag it  Tell an adult if you see something that worries or upsets you  Parental controls  Don’t ever talk to strangers  Don’t go on apps that are not for your age  Don’t post anything you wouldn’t be happy with others seeing  Remember what you put on the internet – STAYS!

5. Cyber bullying – next steps  Ignore mean messages  Don’t respond  Report messages to the service e.g. facebook/Instagram  Never retaliate – send them hurtful messages  Block the person  Tell an adult – teacher/parents/someone you trust  Save any evidence to share with an adult you trust
