2. Next year, there will be a major motion picture about Noah. Will it be accurate? When we read the Bible we find the true account of Noah and lessons.

3. The account of Noah is recorded in Genesis 6-9 God purposed to destroy the world by flood but gave it 120 years. Noah was righteous and thus chosen by God Commanded to build an ark – he did!

4. The floods came and Noah entered the ark where he and his family we delivered For more than 1 year he and his family were in the ark When commanded they left the ark and worshipped God

5. Noah’s Salvation They were saved – 1 Pet. 3:20-21 By grace – Gen. 6:8 Faith – Heb. 11:7 Obedience – Heb. 11:7,Gen. 6:22, 7:5, 9, 16 This is the same pattern by which we are saved. Grace, faith and obedience Eph. 2:8-9, James 2:24

6. Noah’s Followed Instructions God’s instructions were very specific – Gen. 6:14-16, 19- 21 Noah obeyed – Gen. 6:22 When God gives us instructions we must obey them

7. Noah Preached A preacher of righteousness – 2 Pet. 2:5 Righteousness – to do what is right! God is righteous – Rom. 3:21-26, 2:4-5, 1 Pet. 2:23 We need to preach righteousness – 1 Pet. 3:15 The gospel – Rom. 1:16,17 Warning the lost - 2 Pet. 3:10-12, 2 Cor. 5:11, Jude 22,23

8. Noah Waited For 120 years he preached and patiently worked ( Gen. 6:3 ) Will we wait on God? 2 Pet. 3:3 Delay is NOT indifference -2 Pet. 3:9-10 Let us wait Heb. 10:35-38 As we pray – Luke 18:7-8, Rom. 12:12

9. Noah Waited We don’t have forever Heb. 9:27. Let us not waste our time in idleness – 1 Cor. 15:58, 1 Thess. 3:12-13 Keep looking! Gen. 8:6

10. Noah Worshipped After leaving the ark – he built an altar Gen. 8:20-21 Worship demonstrates gratitude for God’s mercy, reverence, & humility. When we consider God let us worship too! John 4:24 From the heart with gratitude, reverence and humility – 2 Tim. 2:22, Col. 3:16, Heb. 13:15, 12:28

11. Noah is a great example. Let us follow his example as recorded in God’s word! Rom. 15:4
