“Something out of Nothing…Please?”

Psalm 19:1-6 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. —Psalm 19:1–6

Seeing God in Creation In the beginning God … —Genesis 1:1 What may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. —Romans 1:19–20

Intelligent Design is Obvious “glory”: encompasses not only the beauty of God, but also His wisdom, His knowledge, His intelligence, His skill, His attention to detail, His mathematical, scientific, and architectural precision.

Signs of God’s Care in Creation! O L ORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. - Psalm 8:1

God’s Purpose in Creation “The law of the L ORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the L ORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the L ORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the L ORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the L ORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the L ORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.” (19:5-13)

God in Jesus our Redeemer “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, L ORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. - Psalm 19:14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5

What does this mean to me? The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14 What is there about my life that explains Jesus?
