2 Click on ‘Interview Outcome pre-referee check’ step to commence the process of recording interview outcomes. Interview Outcome pre-referee check 1 NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AUV4. 21Oct13 There are a number of way to access applications to record outcomes. The following is the most common method.

3 In the step “Interview Outcome pre-referee check”, the Hiring Manager moves the candidates from ‘Select Step Outcome’ to either: ‘Referee to be Contacted’ OR ‘Unsuccessful at Interview’ OR ‘Not Eligible’ - Staffing Services has advised the panel at this point that the candidate is not eligible to be considered for the position OR ‘Candidate Withdrawn’ if the candidate advises the panel they wish to withdraw their application for the position. 2 Interview Outcome pre-referee check NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AUV4. 21Oct13 To complete this step, the number in brackets against ‘Select Step Outcome’ must be ‘0’. If not then a candidate(s) has not been reviewed and therefore this step has not been completed.

4 Select each candidate, one at a time, to indicate the third referee has been contacted. After the candidate has been selected, click on the green arrow to move them to the ‘Referee to be Contacted’ status. Complete this action for all candidates where contact with the referee is to be made. You can bulk move candidates through this process if you like by selection all the candidates you are moving to ‘Referee to be Contacted’ status all at once. 3 Interview Outcome pre-referee check NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AUV4. 21Oct13

5 Select each candidate, one at a time, to add them to the ‘Unsuccessful at Interview’ status or ‘Not Eligible’ or ‘Candidate Withdrawn’ where relevant. Click ‘More Actions’ and then click ‘Change Step/status’ to select either ‘Not Eligible’ or ‘Candidate Withdrawn’ status. 4 Interview Outcome pre-referee check NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AUV4. 21Oct13 To move candidates to ‘Unsuccessful at Interview’ use the red circle with a diagonal line through it after selecting the candidate to be moved.

6 Check the ‘New Status’ is correct/Select the new status. Select ‘Save and Close’ when you are finished. If you wish to see the details of the candidate you are currently moving through the Candidate Selection Process use this link. You will then be provided with a grey pop-up box to complete the candidate you have chosen. Do not check the ‘Send correspondence’ box. You will send correspondence to candidates at the end of the merit selection process through ‘More Actions’. As previously (refer page 5) the system will return you to the ‘Interview outcome pre-referee check’ Step screen

7 Check all candidates have been moved to the another status in this step. 6 Interview Outcome pre-referee check NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AUV4. 21Oct13 Once all candidates have been moved to ‘Referee to be Contacted’ status you are ready to progress to the next step of the Merit Selection process. Click on the double blue arrows to move candidates to the next step.

8 A total of 9 candidates applied for this position. 4 candidates have been culled and referees would not need to be contacted and remain at Step; – ‘Review Applicants for Short Listing’ 2 candidates have been culled following contact with referees and remain at the Step; – ‘Short List Referee Check Outcome’ 1 candidate has been culled following the interviews and remains at the Step; ‘Interview Outcome pre-referee check’ 2 candidates have been successful following the interview. They need to be ranked as: Recommended applicant Eligibility List (rank) or Not Recommended. 8.
