2 2015/16 INTRODUCTION – SFE and IAG TEAM We enable customers to invest in their futures by delivering safe, accurate and efficient assessment, payment and repayment services Students perspective : Students are confident of funding when choosing to participate Students’ budgeting plans allow for loans Students have minimum effort accessing finance support Student problems are resolved quickly and accurately Students’ expectations of payment amounts are fulfilled during their study Students pass into repayment with clear understanding of their system and repayment obligations

3 2015/16 TUITION FEE LOAN : Maximum amount of £9000 charge maintained MAINTENANCE LOAN : Maintenance Grant and Special Support Grant replaced by additional Maintenance Loan. The maximum level of Maintenance Loan has been increased by 10.3% for those previously entitled to Maintenance Grant (see handout) ADDITIONAL SUPPORT : for students with caring responsibilities ie have children or an adult dependent on them DISABLED STUDENT SUPPORT : students with a disability, including a mental-health condition or specific learning difficulty BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS : available directly from institution SUMMARY OF SUPPORT FOR 2016/17 AN OVERVIEW… For more information about eligibility, amounts and applying for these loans and grants, see our free resources herehere i

8 2015/16 Ticking the NHS Bursary box when not studying an NHS relatedNHS Bursary Course – this drastically reduces the amount of support available Putting unnecessary qualifications in the Previous Study box.Previous Study box We only require previous HE study, not GCSEs, A-Levels etc APPLICATION HOTSPOTS THE COMMON ERRORS OR HOLD-UPS Course end date Course end date – some students incorrectly put their course end Date as the year end date – this reduces support available Leaving the LRF blank.
