Each week campers jump into action participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reaching for new heights, and expanding their horizons. Camp at Chesterbrook Academy gives you choices. Camp includes five days of activities. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. 4 Weekly Themes WEEK 2 It’s Hip to Be Healthy This week we will focus on what it takes to be healthy. We will learn how to fuel growing bodies with proper nutrition and how to be healthy while having fun. We will learn new games and exercises to help us stay fit. WEEK 3 Fantastic Tales and Super Stories We will explore stories from all genres, as well as, making up our own. We will learn about Tall Tales and discuss where our favorite super heroes came from. WEEK 4 Iron Chef Camper Campers will learn and practice a variety of cooking skills and use their creativity while getting messy and eating delicious foods. WEEK 5 Budding Builders Dream it. Build it. Wreck it. Repeat! Campers build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles while they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics. Each week campers will engage in unique activities that offer relevant and meaningful experiences that allow them to construct new knowledge while connecting to previous knowledge. Activities provide an opportunity for campers to engage, explore and make sense of the natural world through inquiry and project-based learning. WEEK 7 Wacky World of Sports Campers won’t want to miss our spin on sports week. Not only will we teach them many new games and sports, we will also teach new and inventive ways to play the games we already know. WEEK 8 A Pirate’s Life Join us as we go on an epic high seas adventure across the seven seas. We will encounter sea monsters and look for buried treasure as we ride the waves. WEEK 9 Imagination Station This week our campers will use their imaginations to create, design and build whatever they can dream up. The sky is the limit! WEEK 10 Artist Studio Draw it! Paint it! Sculpt it! There is no right or wrong when it comes to making art. Use your creativity to express your inner artist. WEEK 11 Water, Water Everywhere Water is all around us. Come find out what lives in our local lakes, rivers and streams. We will explore the kinds of animals that live in fresh water. WEEK 1 Sensational Sounds Campers will explore the world of sound as we make music and musical instruments. Campers will also explore the fascinating world of sound effects. Chesterbrook Academy Summer Camp 2016 WEEK 12 Messy Mixtures Messy Science experiences are the best kind. Our campers will be surprised to find out what goes into all kinds of ooey, gooey substances that we will make and take home to share with our family. WEEK 6 Time Travelers Join us on a journey back in time. We will board the time machine and explore ancient peoples and places. Go on fabulous adventures and throw a time traveler party that will go down in history!
