Thunderstorms are dangerous and interesting. The cloud that is usually the one who makes the thunderstorms is the cumulonimbus cloud. There are certain areas where they have allot of thunderstorm activity. If you are in florida, you may have thunderstorms time to time. If you are in Kampala,Uganda, you may have almost 2/3 of the year getting struck by thunderstorms. As you can see in this picture, this cumulonimbus cloud is a very large cloud like a tower. This is a matured cumulonimbus cloud. Only when the cumulonimbus cloud is fully matured can it give thunderstorms. They mature by the war air. As it goes higher, the air starts condensing and forms into clouds but as a tower. The higher they go, the clouds form ice crystals in the upper parts of the cloud. There are many types of thunderstorms, that can lead to, oh it's not too bad, or it could be catastrophic. Here are the types of thunderstorms: Single Cell Thunderstorms: Live for 30 minutes and are not catastrophic. These are rare and you ca't forecast it because it appears randomly. Multi-Cell Thunderstorms: Most common type of thunderstorm. Lifespan is a few hours and can make normal- sized hail and weak tornadoes. Multi-Cell Line Tornadoes: A connecting line of thunderstorms, can make golf-ball sized hail and weak tornadoes. They can be easily predicted. Super-Cell Thunderstorm: High threat and catastrophic, and can make violent tornadoes. People think that the thunder will hurt you,it won't,but the lightning will. Thunder is just the sounds of what the lightning makes. the regular thunderstorm is about 15 miles in diameter. Remember, thunderstorms can happen anywhere and at any time, so watch out.

* Facts About Tunderstorms: * Native Americans thought that lightning was a living being. They called it "Thunderbird" because of the way it looked. * The norse mythology thought that it was Thor's Hammer that caused the thunder and lightning storms. * The greeks used to think that it was the wrath of Zeus, god of the sky and lightning plus thunder. * Cumulonimbus clouds used the air to make a conducter for the lightning. * Thunderstorms can make some serious tsunamis and some serious tornadoes. * Hail can come out at 100 miles per hour. * 1,800 thunderstorms are happening everyday. * Cumulonimbus is the latin word of "rain heaps". * Updrafts are as high as 100 miles per hours. * There are four types of thunderstorms. * Heat lightning is when you can see lightning but can't hear the thunder.

Thunderstorms are quite remarkable. They form because of atmospheric conditions. They make lots of precipitation like rain, hail, and of course, lightning. They even make tornadoes!!! There is a process to make thunderstoms. * Thunderstorms are made by first the uplifting of hot air because of the cold air that is under. * The warm air will cool later on and the droplets wil start making clouds. * These clouds are called cumulonimbus couds and it will tower more and more and it will freeze becuse of the temperature. * The upper part of the cloud is positively charged, and te other parts anre negative because of the ice crystals and water droplets * When the charges are too much to hold, they release the electricity. * Here is a diagram:

* There are many thunderstorms during storm season. You may want to ready yourself if a thunderstorm ever comes your way. * Here are five tips to stay safe during a thunderstorm: * Do not make any plans outside, a lightning bolt may almost fry you. * Stay away from your windows and do not turn on any electrical appliances, just a battery powered radio. * Do not use any thing that is made of metal or anything that could be a good conducter of electricity. * If you did make any plans, and you are already at a camp, stay away from pylons and windmills and find a home or a school. * If you are traveling through a thunderstorm, use a hard top car. Close the windows until the storm is over.

* What is the latin word for rain heaps? * If you are near a window in the middle of a thunderstorm, what should you do? * How many miles per hour can hail fall from the sky? * Can tornadoes happen in a thunderstorm? * Which clouds make thunderstorms? * Where are the positive charges in a cumulonimbus cloud? * What is a lightning bolt that doesn't have thunder

* Cumulonimbus * Get away from it * 100 miles per hour * Yes, it can * Cumulonimbus Clouds * In the upper and middle part of the cloud * Heated Lightning
