2 ENGSO Youth www.youth-sport.net 2  Youth Committee of ENGSO, consisting of 9 elected members from the Youth Assembly  Non-profit organisation with 41 members (national sport umbrella organisations from across Europe)  Our main target group: European youth sport-for-all sector  We aim to promote health, inclusion, anti-discrimination, democratic participation, equal rights, volunteering of young people and international cooperation in the European youth sport sector. Who are we?

3 ENGSO Youth www.youth-sport.net 3  We use participatory processes to empower young people in Europe by using sport as a tool  We reach participants who may impact sport and society at all levels  Since 2008 ENGSO Youth has been working towards tackling social exclusion in and through sport and organised the first study session in the youth sport sector Europe-wide  Since 2012 ENGSO Youth has focused activities towards fighting homophobia, discrimination and harassment in sports What do we do?

5 ENGSO Youth www.youth-sport.net 5 „Youth Sport speaks out on Taboo-phobia - Developing a youth led campaign to challenge homophobia in and through sport”  Study Session, June 2012, in Budapest alongside the Eurogames

6 ENGSO Youth www.youth-sport.net 6  8 days  35 participants and facilitators  Participants ranging from young leaders in the sports- and/or youth sector, to athletes who had experienced homophobia personally

8 ENGSO Youth www.youth-sport.net 8 Future projects:  Possible study session partnering with the EGLSF: « Youth sports campaigns against homophobia- sensitizing the European youth sport sector to fight homophobia and discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.»  Possible project in the Daphne III programme: « Youth sport stand up for youth rights- empowering 16-22 year old Europeans in sport to combat and raise awareness about sexualized violence and gender harassment through youth-led campaigns a local cross- sector networks in 7 European countries.
