2. Basic Principles of Verification Independence  The verification process must be free from bias and conflicts of interest Ethical Conduct  Verification Bodies must demonstrate trust, integrity, confidentiality, and discretion throughout the process Fair Presentation  Verification Bodies will reflect the results of verification activities truthfully and accurately Due Professional Care  Verification Bodies will exercise due professional care and judgment and maintain the necessary skills and competences for verification

3. Verification Standard Verification Bodies must verify Members’ GHG emission reports according to the following standards:  The Registry’s General Verification Protocol  ISO 14064-3 (Specification with Guidance for the Validation and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Assertions) Your GHG report is verified to The Registry’s General Reporting Protocol

4. 44 Five Core Verification Activities After the kick-off meeting your Verification Body will work to: 1. Assess your conformance with the Registry’s requirements 2. Assess the completeness of your emission report 3. Perform a risk-based assessment 4. Develop a sampling plan for your data and facilities to be visited. 5. Evaluate your GHG information systems and controls and emission estimates against verification criteria

5. 6. Documentation Verification Bodies must produce the following documents to complete The Registry’s verification process:  Verification Report: includes scope, description of verification plan, complete list of facilities, sampling plan, list of any discrepancies identified  Verification Statement: official documentation of the outcome of the verification activities
