COINFECTION OF HIV, HBV, HCV IN FEMALE SEX WORKERS IN HA NOI, 2013 RESULTS OF IBBS Ass. Prof. NGUYEN ANH TUAN, MPH, PhD NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HYGIENE AND EPIEPIDEMIOLOGY MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Introduction Integrated Biological-Behaviors Surveys (IBBS) were implemented to strengthen serological surveillance and give behavior data in order to provide strategic information to Ministry of Health for more effective strategy on HIV/AIDS intervention prevention IBBS were implemented 3 rounds (2005-2006, 2009-2010 and 2013- 2014) in 3 high-risk behaviors of PWID, FSW and MSM Main objectives of IBBS: –Give estimated HIV prevalence (present and trend over time) for PWID, FSW and MSM –Have risk behaviors in sexual intercourse, drug use, and receive of HIV/AIDS intervention prevention services

Participant Female Sex Worker (FSW) is woman over or equal 18 years old, have sex to receive money at least one time in the past month, meet client in the street (S-FSW) or in hot spot such as karaoke, massage parlor, … (K-FSW) Methods Cross-sectional study used time location sampling (TLS) Sample size Sample size of study participants was calculated in IBBS round III: 599 FSWs (299 S-FSW, 300 K-FSW) Period: 6-10/2013 Study design

Statistical analysis Software STATA 12 was used to estimate point value, 95% confidence interval Weighted for sampling selection and adjusted probability of participant selection

Testing HIV testing Used III strategy of Ministry of Health to confirm one HIV positive case Screened by Genscreen Ultra HIV Ag/Ab (Biorad, US), Determine HIV- 1/2 (Alere, Japan) and Murex HIV Ag/Ab Combination (DiaSorin, UK) were used HIV testing was tested in HIV laboratory of PAC in Hanoi HBV and HCV testing Architech HBsAg qualitative II was used to detect HBsAg. One HBV positive case was defined if specimen was reacted with HBsAg and the value ≥ 1 S/CO Architech Anti-HCV was used to detect antibody HCV. One HCV positive case was confirmed if specimen was reacted with Anti-HCV and the value ≥ 1 S/CO HBV and HCV testing were done in National Reference HIV Laboratory at NIHE. HBV, HCV results were confirmed in Molecular laboratory in CDC Atlanta, USA
