4 Global Warming Global warming is a result of both the intentional and unintentional consequences of human activity that creates an imbalance in the earth’s atmosphere by adding greenhouse gas emissions, depleting ozone layer, and leading to the warming of the earth’s surface.

7 Caribbean National Rain Forest El Yunque The only rainforest in the system of national parks of the United States which encompasses more than 28,000 acres of flora and is home to a variety of animals.

8 Rio Camuy Cave Park The third largest underground river cavern system in the world, and home to unique species of fish that are blind, and eons-old stalactites and stalagmites. 9 Coral Reefs Coral reefs, are one of the most valuable and spectacular environments on earth, and also one of the most productive and diverse marine ecosystems.

10 Mangroves A costal forest of the most complex and productive tropical ecosystem developing or growing in a low-nutrient environment.

11 Guanica’s Dry Forest Reserve This forest contains over 600 uncommon types of plants and 48 endangered species that are threatened by the onset of forest fires brought about by increasing temperatures.
