It was a time of major environmental disturbance, and the changes that it brought threatened the very survival of humans Why do you think the Ice Age threatened human survival? (Turn and talk)

11. As glaciers grew larger, the ocean levels lowered, creating a strip of dry land that allowed the nomads to travel to North America. From their people moved to many different regions.

13. Independent Practice Please read “How Did the Ice Ages Affect Humans” and answer the following in a 5-7 sentence paragraph: How were people able to adapt to survive the Ice Ages?

Group Work Use the picture that has been provided to you: Group 1- Using the clues in the picture, what technology have people developed since the early Paleolithic Age that helped them adapt to colder conditions? Group 2- Why do you think early people made a shallow hole lined with stones to hold a fire? Group 3- How do you think humans today might adjust if there were another drastic change in Earths climate? Group 4- What do you hypothesize to be going through the minds of these family members? What might they be thinking about? What are they concerned about?
