2 Selection Process Currie RFC THE ACADEMY TIERS ARE REVIEWED QUARTERLY Player is nominated by his team coach A member of the rugby group watches the player and feedbacks to the Academy Manager – Ben Cairns If deemed appropriate the Academy Manager invites the player into the Monday evening skills sessions If deemed appropriate the player will be invited to become a full Academy member at the start of the next quarter and will be advised of the tier he will join

3 Demotion/ De-selection Process Currie RFC THE ACADEMY TIERS ARE REVIEWED QUARTERLY Team coaches are encouraged for feedback on their Academy players If a player is falling short of the standards set by the Academy and of that stated in the player contract then a formal warning will be issued to the player by the Academy The player will be monitored through the next quarter and a final decision will then be taken to either maintain, demote or remove the player If there has been a case of serious misconduct the Academy Manager reserves the right to remove a player with immediate effect

Monday Skills Session - Weekly session focussing on perfect technique 2 S & C Programming & Testing - Run by Heriot Watt University (Includes 1 weekly supervised session @ HWU) 3. Match Analysis & Feedback - Individual tagging system and expert feedback (Powered by Coach Logic) 4. Individual Player Development Program - Reviewed quarterley (includes comprehensive season planner) 5. Individual Mentoring Programme - Assigned a 1st XV mentor (includes match feedback and 1 to 1's) Tier 2 to Include - 1. Monday Skills Session - Weekly session focussing on perfect Technique 2 S & C Programming & Testing - Run by Heriot Watt University (Includes 1 weekly supervised session @ HWU) 3. Match Analysis & Feedback - Individual tagging system and expert feedback (Powered by Coach Logic) Tier 3 to Include - 1. Monday Skills Session - Weekly session focussing on perfect Technique 2. Video Analysis - Access to game footage and ability to anlayse own performance (Powered by Coach Logic) Currie RFC

5 Skill Development Sessions Currie RFC Weekly Monday evening sessions (6.30 -8.30) Run by the Academy Coach & others Focusing on Perfect Technique of the Core Skills Element of position specific workshops run by specialist coaches Work-on periods for players to develop both their strengths and weaknesses

6 Strength & Conditioning (Tier 1 & 2) Currie RFC Coached strength and physical preparation sessions run by a qualified Heriot-Watt Strength and Conditioning coach who will undertake the following roles under the line management of the Heriot-Watt Head of Sport Sciences; Design and deliver a testing program to evaluate nominated players as to their suitability to join the Academy Design, delivery and evaluation of individual strength and physical preparation programs for a maximum of 20 identified players. Liaison with the Head of Academy at Currie RFC regarding program content and player development. Regular assessments of stature, mass and maturation

7 Currie RFC Individual Tagging & Feedback All U15, U16 & U18 matches to be filmed and uploaded to Coach Logic All Coach Logic members will have access to the filmed matches Individual Tagging and Feedback available to Tier 1 & Tier 2 players Each player will receive an individual copy of their game Each player will be asked to create filters and tag their own performance Once player has individually tagged their performance, player will receive feedback on performance from assigned 1 st XV player

9 Mentoring System (Tier 1 Only) Currie RFC All Tier 1 players to be assigned a 1 st XV mentor Mentor will be position specific wherever possible Mentor will be asked to watch and feedback on a minimum of 4 matches per season Mentor will be on hand whenever necessary for advice and counsel to his chosen player Mentor will grade player on performance using position specific profile and feedback this information to both player and academy manager
