2. SOME COMMON CHARACTERISTICS AND SITUATION Ninh Binh Medical College was upgraded from Medical Secondary School (established in 1963) according to the Decision 6757/QD-BGD&DT on 8 th October 2008 by Ministry of Education and Training

3. NBMC is just situated in the center of Ninh Binh province. Ninh Binh Province is located 91 km from Hanoi and has both rail and road transport links. So there is convenient traffic, NBMC is near central, provincial and district hospitals and community. So, it is favorable to train nursing; pharmacology and medical technical specialties SOME COMMON CHARACTERISTICS AND SITUATION  During 48 years of building and development, NBMC has many experiences in training nursing – a number of nurses are the most and its training quality is highly appreciated by medical units nationwide

MISSION We are commited to: + Creating an educational environment of democracy, discipline, transparency, culture and high professional. + Ensuring that all students have standards competence, professional ethics, medical English, communioncation skills, teamwork skills, and lifelong learning after graduation + Co- operating and developing about education, research and practice with related agencies to keep up with the development of science and technology in health care.

6. * Students-enrolling areas: + College and Secondary education: enroll from the whole country * Training fields + At College level: general nurse + At Secondary level: + General nurse + Midwife + Pharmacist + General doctor’s assistant + Doctor’s assistant with the orientation of Vietnamese traditional medicine In the near future, we are going to train other fields: laboratory technique, image technique, pharmacology at college level.

7. TRAINING * Students training scale -At present: about 4,000 students/year - In 2015: about 10,000 convertible regular students ( 7,000 college students and 3,000 intermediate students) - In 2020: about 15,000 convertible regular students ( 8,000 university students; 4,000 college students and 3,000 intermediate students)

8. 2/10/2016 nhiều lớn to (ít)(nhỏ) MATERIAL FACILITIES * NBMC now consists of 3 training bases with 33 modern study rooms - Campus A: Administrative building, lecture hall, playground and multifunction gyms. - Campus B and C: Teaching and practice areas ( laboratories, study rooms equipped with modern devices meeting the national standards) * We have been taking advantage and mobilizing all resources to finish the construction in an area of ten hectares in a new location in 2 or 3 years

Target - Our target is to train and retrain the human resourses having university and college degrees; intermediate degrees on subjects of Medicine and pharmacology to meet the need of locally and national socio- economic development - Do researching and apply technology in teaching and learning. - Complete the infrastructure, apply information technology in management and education - Cooperate with the hospitals and clinical centers in order to attach training with working - Provide training courses for credits in accordance with international standards

12. THE COLLEGE’S DIFFICULTIES 1. The number of Universities and Colleges and their growth are continuously increasing nationwide, as a result, it is very difficult to recruit more and more students in line with our scale. 2. Material facilities, teaching equipment, especially practicing areas are still difficult. There is a lack of a standard practicing area, so professional skills of the students are limited. 3. The College is under rejuvenation to upgrade to University. It is a big pressure to have enough young qualified lecturers to meet the need of managing, teaching, science research.
