2 Some of the ways we use videos:  for promotion of program  for advocacy  during the training for teachers  for ilustration of standards/indicators/examples  for reflection and self-reflection of teachers International STEP BY STEP Association

3 CONTEXT: By the end of the school year 1st graders are reflecting back

4 FOCUS: Observe what the teacher is doing in order to help children reflect on their work and the work of others?

5 REFLECTION ON VIDEO: Did you notice that teacher:  Asks questions that encourage children to think about their learning and achievements  Gives children opportunity to choose examples of their work which they want to present

6 REFLECTION ON YOUR OWN PRACTICE AND OTHER EXAMPLES: Think of other ways you can support children to become skillfull in self- assesment and making decisions about their learning.

8 WHAT IS THE EFFICIANT WAY TO COLLECT ENOUGH VIDEO CLIPS AND OTHER MATERIALS BEFORE FEBRUARY 15?  Review existing videos or video tape new ones – we need good quality  Clips shouldn’t be longer then 5 min.  Suggest which area/standard/indicator video-clip illustrate  Translate (transcript with timer)  Don’t forget ‘Context-Focus-Reflection on video-Reflection on your own practice and other examples’  Permission form! International STEP BY STEP Association

9 WHAT ABOUT PICTURES?  One picture or several slides  Context (1-2 sentences)  Suggest which area/standard/indi cator video-clip illustrate  Permission form! FAMILY MEMBER IS HELPING IN ART AREA. International STEP BY STEP Association
