2 The Characteristics of God What is this unit about? In this unit we will be thinking about who God actually is. Is God one form or many? What words can we use to describe God? What is God like? Why are we learning about this? If God does exist, we need to know what kind of God people are believing in. We need to have an idea of what God is like in order to be able to understand and question things like suffering and evil in the world. To be understanding of how different religions and cultures can view God in different ways.

4 Pictionary Vs. Articulate You are going to work in pairs and take it in turns to be the one drawing/describing and the one guessing. The pair to guess first will win a Green eref. You will be shown a word. Depending on what you are told, you will either need to draw it (Pictionary) or describe it (Articulate). 11 Images of God Stand by the image in the room that you think most reflects how you would view God. What do you think the image is trying to tell us about God? Does the image match up with any of the words we came up with as a class to describe God?

Any attempt to capture Allah in an image is an attempt to limit God. It is an insult to create an image of God and an image to those who worship him as it is suggesting they worship something with limits. Instead, they have the 99 names for Allah to show his qualities. They use geometric shapes to decorate their mosques.
