9. Which one of these planets is both hot and cold ? Saturn Mercury Venus Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and the part facing the Sun gets very hot (450⁰C!). But the part facing away from the Sun gets very cold (-200⁰C!). This is because there is no air keep the heat in. Mercury
