Title:“Definition of priority user needs for combinations of data” Subgroup B.1 leader: Sweden (SE) Collect policy relevant use cases, focus on evidence based decision making Elaborate use cases  derive user needs  recommendations 40+ Use cases were collected 5 Recommendations Report submitted in July 2015 and updated in October 2015  uploaded to the UN-GGIM: Europe website

9 the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP) ICT Policy Support Programme (PSP) Call 6 Grant 325140 EUROPEAN LOCATION FRAMEWORK Tasks B 2: “methods” 2.Recommendation for methods implementing the prioritised combinations of data (Mid-2016) Subgroup B.2 leader: United Kingdom (UK) activities started in June 2015, 2 teleconferences review current European interoperability frameworks and geospatial, statistical and other thematic data integration projects regarding methods for combinations of data; provide best practise guidance for the interaction between NMCAs, NSIs, environment agencies and other relevant organisations; review current use of data from multiple sources (crowd sourcing, community sourcing and regulatory geospatial representations) to identify case studies and best practices relevant for combinations with core data;

Is the framework within an organisation? Does it extend between or across different legal boundaries? What are the types of datasets that are being used or exchanged? Is it going between open data and paid for data? Does it take into account different business models? (discussed on 9.11. at the WG B meeting)

12 the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP) ICT Policy Support Programme (PSP) Call 6 Grant 325140 EUROPEAN LOCATION FRAMEWORK Tasks B 2: “methods” As part of the discussion it was agreed that additional frameworks would be reviewed and added including:  Geodata Sweden  Data Documentation Initiative (DDI)  Generic Statistical Information Model (GSIM)  SDMX  DCAT  IStat  GIP.AT (Graph Integration Framework)  Austrian Address Register Reflect the UN SDGs and its indicators together with some use cases of the B 1 report

13 the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP) ICT Policy Support Programme (PSP) Call 6 Grant 325140 EUROPEAN LOCATION FRAMEWORK Tasks B 3: “side-effects” 3.Recommendation about how to manage side-effects induced by data combinations (Mid-2016) Subgroup B.3 leader: Austria (AT) activities started in September 2015, 2 teleconferences in October 2015 recommend effective methods of governance, quality management, data interoperability, access control and privacy safeguards for the integration of data from multiple sources with core data; identify legal and other barriers for the integration of data from relevant sources.

15 the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP) ICT Policy Support Programme (PSP) Call 6 Grant 325140 EUROPEAN LOCATION FRAMEWORK Next steps Communication and collaboration between WG A and B  Cross checks with WG A for user requirements & core data definition B 1 deliverable (report and annex II) version 1.1 will not be updated anymore Start with the interaction between subgroup B 2 and B 3  Can B 2 or B 3 activities be conducted in time?  Can any envisaged B 2 or B 3 actions not be tackled? Deadline for B 2 and B 3 reports Jul‘16 should be kept!  Consolidation period for both reports has to be foreseen to provide them with complementary content
