5. Always wear eye protection when around power tools, even if other people are using them. Tie back or remove loose clothing, hair, headphones, jewelry, etc. Consider wearing ear protection. Always have the object you are working on secured to a surface. Never hold it in your hand. If you are holding your object against a surface, wear a glove on that hand. Never use a tool for anything other than its intended purpose (drill bits are for drilling, not for routing). Report all injuries immediately.

7. HOT GLUE GUN Proper uses: Adhere two objects together (does not work well on thin plastics). Insulate conductive points. Quick, non-permanent connections (good for prototypes) Dangers: Very hot near the metal tip. Glue can easily escape the nozzle and create mess. Not for… Melting plastic, heat-shrink tubing, removing glue. Filling in large areas. Structurally important builds, or permanent items.

9. Proper uses: Creating small holes through an object. Dangers: Sharp, fast, spinning parts Bits can get very hot Do not…. Use for any task other than drilling (do not use rotary tool bits in the drill, like sanders, routers, etc.). Hold onto object you are drilling. Drill into a hard surface Forget to put scrap wood under the object you are drilling.

12. Proper uses: Drilling, sanding, routing, cutting, and so much more! Small jobs. Dangers: Same as a drill but more so. Slips more often. Bits can break and fly off at high speed. Do not… Have bits rotate towards your face/body. Forget to wear gloves. Inhale any fumes. Use the wrong bit for the job.
