Our King Comes to us St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, March 28 th

Welcome to St. Peter! Lent began with an almost equal focus on the sinner and the Savior. But increasingly and now in Holy Week the focus is on Christ. The readings, hymns and prayers want us to understand once and for all who it really is who has come to save us, so that with all confidence we may do as the Prayer of the Day suggests: follow him from Holy Week to Easter, from earth to heaven. May God bless our Palm Sunday worship!

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and its ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Refrain: Lift high the cross; the love of Christ proclaim Till all the world adore his sacred name.

Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. All: And also with you.

Pastor: Dear friends in Christ, for five weeks of Lent we have been preparing for the celebration of our Lord’s paschal mystery. Today we come together to begin the solemn celebration of Holy Week. Christ entered in triumph into his own city to complete his work as our Messiah: to suffer, to die, and to rise again.

Pastor: Let us remember with devotion his entry that culminated at the empty tomb and follow him with a lively faith. United with him by Baptism, we share in his resurrection and new life. Let us approach God with a true heart and confess our sins, asking him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us.

All: Lord of life, I confess that I am by nature dead in sin. For faithless worrying and selfish pride, For sins of habit and sins of choice, For the evil I have done and the good I have failed to do,

All: You should cast me away from your presence forever. O Lord, I am sorry for my sins. Forgive me, for Jesus’ sake.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Amen.

Pastor: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. All: Hosanna in the highest!
