Others however, will be much larger and could require a fundamental reshaping and whole-scale restructure of the teams involved. Regardless of the scale of each review, these are uncertain times for everyone involved and we are working closely with our Trade Union colleagues to carefully manage each individual process so that any affected staff receive regular communication, updates and as much support as possible. “ 7 Sept 2015 Engagement and Communication

Create additional capacity to provide key workers to co- ordinate the assessment process and write EHCPs. Consolidate the role of ‘key worker’ into a single post. Retain educational and social care expertise within the teams. Contribute to an improved experience for children and their families. To have a structure common to all SEND teams. To enable the delivery of efficiencies by enabling the delivery of savings against VR decisions made previously.

Each option offers an alternative makeup of the team in terms of grades and balance of the number of potential roles. There are slight variations in the number of staff proposed for each team depending on the range of pay grades in each model.

22 Serving the people of Cumbria Do not use fonts other than Arial for your presentations Assimilation & VR Approval Assimilation process will compare old and new roles to determine where direct appointments can be made Roles must be grade match and 75% match / substantially similar against each assimilation criteria Employees not assimilated to posts confirmed as ‘at risk’ of redundancy and are able to apply for vacant posts through the vacancy preference process All employees in scope will receive a personalised letter confirming the outcome of the process from w/c 7 th March:  VR outcome  Confirmation of assimilation  Confirmation of VPP All letters personalised and issued via the Service Centre
