Will be used for alignment monitoring for the SC Cavities Could be used to replace ISOLDE local logging system

9 CATHI Final Review Meeting 22-26th September 2014, Barcelona Inspector: Inspector: Integrate Synoptic  What is it? o Graphical framework implemented in Java that allows to control and to monitor any CERN standard equipment. o Application developed for ISOLDE. Now used in AD; LINAC4; PS; SPS  What it does: o - Rapid application development (several monitoring widget) o - Device acquisition/writing o - Data elaboration (using the concept of virtual devices) o - Data logging o - Mail/SMS alarm Courtesy of: M. 16 CATHI Final Review Meeting 22-26th September 2014, Barcelona HIE-ISOLDE Application HIE-Phase Up  Cavity Phase Up  REX:  REX: NC machine with fixed velocity profile. -> Phase-up check once per year at machine starts  HIE-ISOLDE:  HIE-ISOLDE: SC machine -> 32 independently-phased cavities (variable velocity profile). Different phasing for each beam and energy.

17 CATHI Final Review Meeting 22-26th September 2014, Barcelona HIE-ISOLDE Application HIE-Converter (1/2)  HIE Converter:  HIE Converter: Converts optics setting coming from Trace3D in Eq. Array format and vice versa.  Visualise the beam envelope.  Quickly evaluate a setting.  Check on line where the beam could be mismatched.  Future upgrade to different simulation codes.

ISOLDE Application will need to updated for the new devices o Minimize the need of new application o New Application have been developed and test have been performed at ISOLDE o Debug will be done as much as possible before beam commissioning
