1 AP Photosynthesis Lab Observing the rate of photosynthesis

2 Questions:  What is the relationship between concentration of CO 2 and rate of photosynthesis?  Do different light sources impact the rate of photosynthesis?

3 CO 2 concentration  Bicarbonate solution used to provide source of CO 2.  Negative Control : 0% purpose?  Positive Control: Methods said to use 2%  Decided to also use 1%, 2%, 4%  Did we choose the right concentrations to limit CO 2 ?

7 What did we see between groups’ data?  Does this support the idea that light intensity is related to the rate of photosynthesis?  Is there a difference between CFL and incandescent?  Is this because of the continuous vs. quantized spectrum of light?  Is it because of the heat?  How could we design an experiment to figure this out?

8 Conclusions  What are the implications of this experiment?  What is the impact of light intensity on rate of photosynthesis?  Is there a maximum CO 2 plants can take in? What happens as CO 2 levels rise? How is deforestation a sort of double whammy?
