1 Hydrographic Survey Software for Windows

2 Easy to learn ! Quick installation; Easy configuration;
Small learning curve; User friendly user interface; Competitively priced. Hydromagic is an easy to learn software package. Learning most of its features will take only one day. You can install and configure the software the next day and start with your first survey !

3 Key features Supports various map formats which can be loaded as background, including IHO S-57/S-63, BSB, GeoTIFF, AutoCad DXF, Microstation DGN, ESRI shape files and more. Downloading and geo-referencing of raster maps from different web services (Google Earth, Nokia Maps, OpenStreetMaps etc). All sensor data is stored into raw data files which can be corrected with tide, sound velocity and draft, and converted to soundings. Generated soundings can be used to generate contours, cross sections, digital elevation/terrain maps and in volume calculations. Support for tides using RTK receiver and geoid models. Survey window for real time position and depth display. Supports simple GPS receivers and fishfinders, as well as RTK receivers and hydrographic echosounders.

4 Applications Dredging monitoring;
Calculate volumes of basins, pits and ponds; Generate DTM and/or contour maps; Positioning of vessels and barges; Map aquatic vegetation (optional); Perform magnetic surveys (optional);

6 Step 1 – Create a new project
Select new project from main menu; Enter a name and description; Select a map projection;

7 Step 1 – Create a new project

8 Step 2 – Add background map
Several map formats are supported, including IHO S-57 and IHO S-63, GeoTIFF, ESRI Shape, AutoCad DXF and image files; The software has a map downloader built in, allowing you to download map data from online data sources like OpenStreetMaps, Google Earth, Bing Maps and many more.

9 Step 2 – Add background map

10 Step 3 – Add cross sections
Cross sections in Hydromagic are used to guide you when performing a survey; A helmsman indicator can be displayed, indicating how to steer to follow the section as close as possible; Cross sections can also be used in volume calculations.

11 Step 3 – Add cross sections

12 Step 4 – Perform your survey
During the survey the vessel position is displayed on the map; When cross sections are used, a helmsman display is showed indicating how to steer; Depth information is drawn on the map in real time; Simply start and stop recording by clicking a single button.

13 Step 4 – Perform your survey

14 Step 5 – Cleaning the data
When the survey has finished, raw data is converted into soundings using a wizard; During this wizard you can apply tide corrections, draft corrections and sound velocity profiles; This wizard also allows you to remove invalid sounding and position data.

15 Step 5 – Cleaning the data

16 Step 6 – Post Processing Filtered sounding data can converted in a couple of end products: Depth contour map (AutoCad DXF); Cross section reports; Dredging volumes reports; Staging volumes reports (frac pits); Digital Elevation Model; ASCII data (CSV files).
