A drought is a time when the weather is dry and there is not much rain at all. The seasons are related to the way sunlight falls on different parts of the earth. For more then 50 years scientists have been trying to make machines with artificial intelligence to research droughts.

We can however identify various indicators of drought such as rain fall, snow pack and stream flow and more.

The Dust Bowl was a horrific drought that wiped up homes and killed many animals, people, and plants. The Dust Bowl happened in Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. There was not much food so the only food you would have was what you managed to grow.

The air has to be dry. The ground is cracking because it is so dry. A drought does not include any rain

A drought happens when there is no rain for a long time. Planting trees may help stop the soil being blown away in times of a drought. Rivers and streams dry up in a drought.
