3.  Midschool experience – the transition  2 groups: ◦ likely to disengage (20) ◦ average students (20)  15 month programme – Sept-Dec  Exemplary model to be replicated  Overlapping programmes – peer learning IYF Transition Project

4. ◦ 2 Key staff – Teacher + Youth worker ◦ Transition year volunteers ◦ Funding from IYF ◦ Programme run out of Citywise Education ◦ Supported by local primary and secondary schools ◦ Local services utilised IYF Transition Project

5. ◦ All participants in 6 th class initially then 1 st year ◦ Timetable structure in 6 th class  Meet twice per week -3 hrs total  Session 1: Talk/Homework/Learning activity/Fun  Session 2: Talk/Non-academic, Sports/teamwork ◦ Timetable structure in 1 st year  Meet once per week – 2 ½ hrs total – one group  Talk + Homework support + non-academic activity IYF Transition Project
