1 Final Project: Illustrate the Meaning of a Word Not just the meaning of the word but your personal interpretation.

2 Pick a word and make a work of art that embodies it. embodies 3rd person singular present of em·bod·y (verb) Be an expression of or give a tangible or visible form to (an idea, quality, or feeling). Provide (a spirit) with a physical form.

5 GUIDELINES and REQUIREMENTS 12”x18” paper or equivalent size on other material Incorporate some human figure Black and white line 3 different colors. Composition must hit 3 sides of paper (no empty space). Utilize both organic and geometric shapes. Use photographic reference photos (no drawing from your head) 10-12 hours

6 Prohibited Music notes Silhouettes Rainbows and sunsets Logos and symbols (peace sign, heart, etc) The actual word you are illustrating Images of drug/violence/ weapons or inappropriate imagery. No inappropriate language I should not be able to good your word and find the image that you drew. Be original!

7 Personal Connection Reflect on the word and relate it to your life Have you experienced it in your life? Have you seen if first hand? If you can make a personal connection, your work will be stronger. Tip: Stay clear of obvious symbols and iconography (ex: dove for peace)
