2 Red Blood Cells Red blood cells have the important job of bringing oxygen and nutrients to all the cells in the body.

3 White Blood Cells White blood cells have the important job of finding and destroying germs in the body.

4 This white blood cell is attacking bacteria. It is trapping the bacteria. Then it will engulf the bacteria and destroy it will special enzymes.

5 Platelets Platelets are special cells that help the body form blood clots and scabs. When they are not needed, they are smooth.

6 Platelets When platelets are needed, they become more stringy, so they can stick together easily and help form a clot.

7 Platelets Here is another picture of platelets that are ready to form a clot.

8 Plasma Plasma is the liquid part of blood. It is what the red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets float around in.

9 Blood Vessels Blood Vessels are the tubes that carry the blood all around your body. A rteries carry blood A way from the heart, ve IN s carry it back IN to the heart.

10 Capillaries Capillaries are tiny blood vessels that trade the oxygen, nutrients, and carbon dioxide with the cells.
