4. PHOTOGRAPHY INFO A large component of Hannu Huhtamo’s photographs is symmetry. He shows this in large “statue” of light. These statues change the mood of dark scenes he captures. They are normally natural areas or urban landscapes.

5. PROCESS DETAILS His photos are possible by doing a long exposure. A long exposure is when there is a very slow shutter speed, and light is let in for longer periods of time. Something unique that he does is that he doesn’t edit his photos at all. He uses the original photo that he took. The photos were all taken in low lit areas, normally at night. The statues of light in the images were created by using hand held lights sources and waving them in the air to paint things.

6. MY THOUGHTS Hannu Huhtamo’s light paintings are very original. I like how all of his images focus on one big figure of light. In his photo’s this figure is always has symmetry to it. There may also be areas of the picture with other small light paintings that will be the same, but scattered about the image. “Darkness is the canvas and light is my brush
