2. Supplies needed Watercolor paint 2 colors of tempera paint Chalk pastel Oil pastel Colored pencils Water Small brush Tile to mix paint on Paper towel

3. Paint half of the H2O and colored pencil box with water color Paint half of the H2O and pastel box with water color Paint half of the Tempera and colored pencil box with tempera paint Paint half of the Tempera and pastel box with tempera paint

4. Watercolor wet on wet Brush plain water in the box WHILE wet add a color in half WHILE WET add another color to the other half so they blend

5. H2O color dropping in Paint the box in a color with- lots of water While wet add a line or polka dots with another color- watch them bleed together

6. H2O Dry Brush Add a lot of color to your brush with a little water- Dab on a paper towel so the bristles are separated Lightly brush in box so it looks scratchy

7. H2O color and pastel On the painted half- blend chalk pastel over the top On the un painted half blend chalk pastel and add watercolor over the top- watch them mix

8. H2O and colored pencil On the painted half draw or shade with colored pencil to add texture On the other half draw a design with colored pencil and then lightly paint watercolor over the top- notice you can still see the colored pencil.

9. Blend Colored Pencil Use a colored pencil and shade- push hard for dark color and blend to a lighter color by not pushing as hard Use 2 different colors of colored pencil and layer on top of one another to mix

10. Blend Pastels Use 2 different colors of pastels- color each half with a little white space in-between Use a Q-tip or your finger to blend together

11. Tempera and colored pencil One the painted half- use colored pencil to neaten your edges or to blend another color on top On the unpainted half color with colored pencil- blend white tempera paint on top- see how it lightens and they mix slightly

12. Tempera with pastel On the painted half use a pastel to blend another color on top On the unpainted half add pastel- then blend another color of paint over the top-

13. Shade the wing to look real Use oil pastel- Add one color Then go back and layer with other colors to blend and fill the space- notice I did not fill the entire space with each color- I built up layers
