9. Data Collection Process Every district must participate once within a five year cycle – MPS Annually 9 New “Improvement Planning” Results Assessment year begins with the 2016 survey year. Interviews occur one calendar year (July-October) after the student has exited school but now will occur at the beginning of the district’s monitoring year. 2016 is the first year in the next 5-year Improvement Planning cycle. 10. A: This target has nearly one in three exiters participating in higher education; this is close the average participation over the past four survey years. B: This target has just over two-thirds of exiters engaged in in higher ed. or competitive employment. This represents an increase of 10% in employment from 2014. Improvement Targets Through the State Performance Plan (SPP), Wisconsin DPI must, along with an advisory board, set annual and five-year goals for each A, B and C reporting criteria. Only the state, not districts, need to set targets. Trend data and 2019 targets are shown on the next slide. 10 C: This target represents participation equal to the highest level of engagement within a 10-year period and is an decrease in un-engagement from 22% in 2014 to 17% in 2019. The only way the state can reach its targets is when schools engage in effective transition practices that benefit youth.
