2 Application Overview Dates and deadlines: Applications open – Monday 18 January Application information sessions – Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 January, 1-2pm, FN3 Application deadline – Friday 29 January You can access the online application via our website: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/applic ation-paperwork-378.php

3 Watch out! You cannot save the online application and come back to it later Ensure you have read this guide carefully and prepared your Statement of Motivation before beginning the application

4 Part 1: Your details To access the application you will need to enter your University username and password Part 1 of the application form will then be populated automatically Please review the details and check for errors. If you need to make changes you must do this via the Student Portal

5 NB Tier 4 students are those who require a visa to study in the UK. If you do not require a visa to study in the UK, please answer “no” to this question Screenshot #1

6 Part 2: Contact details Again, part 2 of the application will be populated automatically Please review the details and check for errors. If you need to make changes you must do this via the Student Portal

8 Part 3: Your studies Again, part 3 of the application will be populated automatically Please review the details and check for errors. If you wish to make changes to your Degree Programme, you should contact a Registry Officer in the Infohub before applying

10 Part 4: Language ability Please enter details of your native language and any additional (relevant) languages spoken – up to a maximum of 5 Level options are beginner, intermediate, advanced or native Do you intend to take English-medium courses at host institution? Please indicate whether you intend to take courses taught in English at your preferred host institution(s) Please note that all IEP destinations teach subjects in English. Those going to Mexico may wish to take courses in Spanish.

12 Part 5: Proposed studies Proposed period options: Semester 1, Semester 2 or Full Year (if applying for one semester only, please check the semester dates at your preferred host institution to ensure no overlap with Aberdeen semester dates) Host university – you are encouraged to give 5 options, in order of preference. If you are happy to study abroad at any of our partner institutions select the ‘send me anywhere’ option For a full list of our partner universities by country, check: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/excha nge-universities.php

14 Part 6: Supporting documents Before applying you should prepare a Statement of Motivation in a Word or PDF document (max. 250 words), to be uploaded in this section Please do your research and detail why you have chosen your preferred host institution(s), giving specific reasons If you can, briefly outline your provisional course choice at your preferred host institution(s) at the end of the Statement (NB this is not included in the word limit). If a course catalogue is not yet available for 2016/17, please confirm at a minimum that your preferred host institution(s) teach the relevant subjects for your degree, at a suitable level and in English (unless you are planning to study in another language)
